Improved performance in the diagnostic imaging and other medical device product areas contributed to a y-o-y dollar increase of 2.9% in Q415, although the running annual export total fell by 6.7% to USD325.3mn for the whole of 2015.
Norway will implement a major overhaul of its health system over the next four years to develop a more efficient healthcare service better adapted to meet the challenges of ageing demographics, technological innovation and rising costs. The Regional Health Authorities will invest almost NOK40bn (USD4.6bn) in infrastructure and equipment over the 2016-2019 period, including NOK5.9bn (USD0.7bn) in medical devices. These developments represent major business opportunities for medical device manufacturers and companies involved in IT and digital health.
